An Ice Little Adventure

It’s late Summer 2925, and the Dragon’s breath ice floe and glaciers have begun their yearly advance southward toward the northern ocean in Frigea. Your employer Ciulio the Collector, a trader in Arasha, had dragged you along on the week-long voyage (under Captain Meeri) across the strait toward the Northern LIght House Trading post. He has constantly spoken of “an ancient artifact of great importance and value” that he believes can be recovered, if he moves quickly enough, from the tundra north of the lighthouse — and the ancient map with gold writing detailing the location of the treasure is certainly convincing, as is the huge sum of money he has offered if you help him recover the artifact. But you will have to hurry: Every day, the ice creeps further south, and in a few weeks, not only will the passage north by land become difficult, but the seas back will become treacherous.

Following the clues on the map, Shane (a halfling rogue/inquisitor) and Arktos (a hulking Bearbearian) made their way north and through many perils to locate the giant’s footprint (where the discovered The Hearthfire Flask), the Giant’s Nose (where they discovered The Frozen Flame), and the Giant’s Ear (where they solved the riddle of harmony) to open the doorway to the Giant’s Heart, where they recovered an immensely powerful Lesser Staff of the Magi — but not before incidentally setting loose the biggest giant they’ve ever heard of, and the monster it was fighting, a huge, ancient evil creature made of frothing waves and the skins of the drowned. Shane and Arktos fled and made their way south again to the trading post, then by sea voyage and overland back to Arasha, where Meeri rewarded you extremely handsomely and began his own quest to find a buyer for the priceless ancient magical staff with a mind of its own …
